Offered for sale is this 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet, finished in Guards Red over a tan leather interior with a black fabric convertible top, powered by a 3.6 liter flat six-cylinder engine, running power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission, with 61,152 miles on the odometer as of this writing. This 911 Cabriolet hails from the ”993” generation, the last run of 911’s with the air-cooled engine. They refined the basic chassis more than they had in the 30 years prior, including a completely new rear suspension, with an all-alloy multi-link rear setup, to stabilize the car at speed in cornering. The exterior design was the most radical as well, with smoothing and lowering of the fenders, flared fenders, and more cleanly integrated bumpers and headlights making it easy to differentiate from any other generation. The Cabriolet is a surprisingly smooth and refined drive, and this example boasts comprehensive maintenance and upgrades. The thorough recent mechanical work by Paul Miller Porsche in Parsippany is fully documented, from details like taillight housings and interior sound absorbent panels, to replacement of steering gears and shift rods.
