Offered for sale is this 2000 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet, finished in black over a black interior, with a black fabric electrically operated convertible top along with a removable hardtop finished in black, powered by a 3.4 liter, naturally aspirated flat six engine running through the rear wheels to a 6-speed manual transmission, with 44,681 miles on the clock. This 911 Carrera Cabriolet is in excellent condition, and ready to go for the next owner. This is an excellent example from Porsche’s first generation of water-cooled 911’s, the 996 chassis. While the discontinuation of the air cooled engine was controversial at the time, it was a necessary step forward in technology, efficiency and cleaner emissions, which they continue to refine and expand on to this day. The switch from air-cooled engines helped Porsche refine and improve the 911’s all-around ability, as the most usable sports car, with the comfort and pace to exceed rivals in the GT category. This 911 is in excellent cosmetic condition, inside and out. The black exterior finish is glossy and consistent across all body panels including the removable hardtop, and the interior has held up well with little to no evidence of wear. Mechanically this 911is in great shape, with recent work including the IMS bearing upgrade along with a new clutch, and new Michelin Pilot P4S summer tires in OEM size all around.
