Offered for sale is this 2009 Cadillac XLR-V Convertible, finished in Crystal Red Tintcoat Metallic over Cashmere leather and microsuede interior with an electric folding hardtop roof, powered by a 4.4 liter supercharged ”Northstar” V8 engine, running power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission, with 5,477 miles on the odometer. This halo sporting convertible for Cadillac represented a significant step in adding performance to its luxury, as they pivoted towards competing with the best European brands. Produced from 2003 to 2009, Cadillac utilized the ”C5” Chevrolet Corvette chassis – also known for being a huge step forward for the iconic American sports car – and equipped it with the luxury features and materials more in line with a luxurious GT than all-out racer. Along with the sharp-edged ”Art & Science” exterior design and more cosseting cabin appointments, Cadillac added a folding electric hardtop and their all-aluminum Northstar 32-valve V8 for a smoother experience. The ”V” editions for Cadillac are more performance oriented, which meant adding the supercharger to produce 443 hp, and a stiffer suspension with larger wheels, performance tires and brakes, which resulted in a compelling American GT that easily matched the pace of the European competition. This example, especially, is a rare opportunity – the last production year of the XLR with under 5,500 miles, all fluid services performed, and new Michelin pilot sport tires.
